the 90s called...

Thursday, May 26, 2016

I have always been into chokers. Blame it on the Spice Girls or being a true 90s girl. My favorite necklace is actually a simple gold choker from my best friend that I wear daily.

Trends come and go, but I will be wearing chokers forever! I don't care if they are in or not. I've also recently realized that I might as well be Canadian. I am always in some form of denim and one layer is usually not enough. #denimondenim

This shoot was so last minute but I got to work with Alora - an actual angel. THE sweetest and loveliest photographer. You can check out her amazing work here. Also her name is awesome.

I feel like this post is just a rant but while I'm on a role... I just graduated from college (yay!) but that means I am one broke kid. I can also add that I am one broke kid with expensive taste (thanks, Mom).

This little denim number takes shopping on a budget to the next level... it is from Target haha! You definitely don't have to feel guilty about spending twenty something dollars on a dress as versatile as this one.

Hello, Bahamas!

Saturday, March 5, 2016

Spring break came to a screeching frigid halt yesterday with our landing in the D - beautiful 20 degree ice rain weather. Can I go back to the Bahamas? Obviously not, but I can recap our venture to the tropics (and dream about it).

We ended up having a much more cultural experience than previously anticipated, but I am so grateful for it. We stayed in Nassau, which is the capital of the Bahamas and also one of the largest islands. That said, although it is a huge tourist hub due to the largest cruise harbor and how easily accessible it is for the Atlantis Paradise Island peeps, it also offers rich Bahamian culture.

We opted out of staying in the luxurious and safe accommodations of a resort and decided to airBnB it (that's a thing). Our airBnb host, Errol, was amazing - seriously hit me up if you need a place to stay in the Bahamas.

Upon arrival, Dannon, driver and go-to-guy was patiently waiting for Em and I - Ri landed 2 hours after us. First stop fresh off the plane? The Daq Shack. If you crave fresh fruit blended with rich Bahamian rum and then some, stop here. Say hello to our dear friend, Polo. After the Daq Shack we stopped at the liquor store - classic college spring break? We didn't even make it out of the liquor store before the girl helping us popped the tops off of our Kalik's (the signature Bahamian beer). You should know it is legal and encouraged to drink anywhere and everywhere in the Bahamas.

We managed to do quite a bit in on our 5 day escapade. For that reason I am going to recap my favorite things to do (+ eat) in the Bahamas via a 2 post series.
^upset that we ate here... don't talk to me about it #supertouristy
Bahamian Rum Festival in the old forts - good food, great rum, and a killer view.
We lived on this beach... more specifically the Tiki Bikini Hut aka $20 for unlimited drinks (it is rated #1 on Trip Advisor in Nassau... we think that's hilarious.)
^if you go, get this drank... coconut water, coconut cream, and rum = HEAVEN
 missing these crystal blues already...

STAY TUNED FOR MORE BAHAMA LOVE!

my valentine

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Celebrated my third Valentine's Day with my favorite guy last night! Townhouse, too much chocolate and a romantic chick flick - I am seriously the luckiest (and I say that way too often). Also it was about 30 below when we took these pictures and you can definitely see the pain on our faces haha.

^painfully cold haha...
this picture pretty much sums up our relationship! love you, J. x

TAS blush brunch

Sunday, February 14, 2016

Recently, I was able to try my hand at styling on a rather small scale for my internship. With the help of my TAS team, we ended up culminating a petite girl's brunch pulling inspiration from Valentine's Day blush tones and elegant crystal. To see more click here!
